Grandma's Dress
Christel is 90 years old. Her eyes are already very weak. She has difficulty with reading. But her enthusiasm for textiles is undiminished. All her life she has dressed beautifully and worn her preference for old traditional costumes, which she has altered and reworked. She has knitted and crocheted a lot and embroidered beautifully. The fabric of her favourite dress had become so thin around her stomach that she was afraid she would no longer be able to wear it. With a fabric that matched the colour and style and small Sashiko stitches, the dress was saved and can now tell another story.
